An effective ad strategy for merchant advertisers is to ensure that your AvantLink account maintains text and banner ad campaigns with current messaging that will not expire.
AvantLink recommends running a few ongoing, or evergreen, text and banner ad campaigns for your affiliate partners at all times. Creating these campaigns allow your affiliates to support your brand, regardless of if you are running a sale or not. It can make the workload for both you and your affiliate partners easier! Here’s how:
YOU CAN SCHEDULE EVERGREEN ADS TO AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE
Using AvantLink’s Dynamic Ads allows you to update these ads with new language and creative assets, as things change on your side. By using Dynamic Ads, you can help your affiliate partners by making this change automatic, as long as they integrate these sites with dynamic javascript on their site.
- Scheduling the Dynamic Update
- Click on the clock icon to create a new update to your ad.
- When the scheduled date occurs, the ad will automatically update in the AvantLink platform and affiliates that integrated using dynamic javascript will automatically receive the update on their website.
- You can schedule multiple versions of the ad to update on different dates by continuing to select Add Dynamic Update. This can be extremely helpful during peak holiday time frames.
- When creating the ad - be sure to clearly label that the ad is dynamic in the Ad Name. For example, your ad name can read: CURRENT/EVERGREEN PROMO For BRAND.COM!
Note: Placing a new banner ad in place of a live banner promotion will automatically update on an affiliate site whether set up dynamically or not. Only banner ads that are hard-coded will not. Text ads need to be set up dynamically in order to update automatically.

- Communicating Dynamic Ads with your Affiliates
- When communicating with your affiliate - be sure to note that any ad campaigns noted as CURRENT/EVERGREEN PROMO - or whichever naming convention you choose - will be continually updated with new promotions.
- Remind your affiliates that they will need to choose Javascript as their integration type when accessing the promotion from the interface for the automatic updates to occur

EVERGREEN ADS PROVIDE CONTINUAL AD AVAILABILITY
Posting evergreen text and banner ads ensures that your affiliate partners have access to promotional options that they can post to their site and not worry about promotional end dates or messaging that is expired. Affiliate partners often want to be associated with your brand, in any form, and hosting a general ad campaign helps them accomplish this.
To ensure that your evergreen ads are always available, simply select the No End Date option when uploading your text or banner ads.
