Parallel tracking is an alternative to traditional click tracking offered by Google.
With Parallel Tracking enabled, the affiliate will need to add some specific parameters to the Final URL and the Tracking template in order to maintain AvantLink’s tracking integrity.
Final URL Suffix – The affiliate should add AvantLink's tracking parameter as the Final URL Suffix, which is avad=[website_id]_gclid_{gclid} replacing [website_id] with their actual website id. So for example, if my website id is 555, my Final URL Suffix would be avad=555_gclid_{gclid}. This allows us to leave the current AvantMetrics tracking and reporting functionality unchanged, as well as most of our existing order tracking functionality, while still tracking properly with Google Parallel Tracking.
Tracking template – The regular affiliate link can go in the tracking template, with one extra parameter added. All that needs to be added to the tracking template is &gclid={gclid}. So in the example above, if my website id is 555 and I've created a custom link for merchant id 10000, my tracking template would be https://www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=cl&pw=555&mi=10000&gclid={gclid}.
