AvantLink offers enhanced tracking features with Insights (formerly known as AvantMetrics); providing all merchant advertisers the capability to gather enhanced clickstream insights and implement commissioning solutions based on click stream data.
Referral Group Reporting
This feature allows your program to identify affiliate clicks during different stages of the sales funnel throughout your referral period (cookie window). It is based the cookie window (not user sessions) in order to provide deeper insight into the customer's path to purchase.
Referral group reporting categorizes affiliate partner's clicks into three different Referral Groups: Introducer, Influencer, and Checkout Influencer (defined below). Affiliate(s) may have a single or multiple touch points within the path to purchase. The last affiliate click within each of the referral groups will be displayed in the referral group reporting.
- Introducer referrals occur when a customer is introduced or directed to the merchant's site for the first time within the cookie window.
- Influencer referrals occur when a customer has previously visited the site and before entering the checkout phase.

Checkout influencer referrals occur after the customer enters the checkout process.
Click Stream Commission Solutions
1. Shared/Modified Attribution
Insights shared/modified attribution solution allows a merchant to set up their commission structure to share commission between multiple affiliates on the same sale or modify (reduce) the sale commission for clicks that occur in less desirable referral groups. Below is an example of both a shared and modified commission structure based on where affiliates fall in the click stream.

2. Network Deduplication
Insights can identify when a secondary affiliate network is part of an order’s click stream. AvantLink's network deduplication solution can automatically deduplicate the order from different affiliate networks ensuring that merchants only pay commission to one network per order. This ensures that you are not paying commission twice on the same sale for affiliates that are in different networks AvantLink will award the network that had the last click.
3. Marketing Channel Deduplication
Insights can identify when additional marketing channels are part of an order’s click stream. AvantLink’s marketing channel deduplication solution can ensure that only one marketing channel is paid out if multiple are part of the order’s click stream. Avantmetric’s can track any marketing channel via a UTM parameter and use deduplication logic award the channel with the last click. .
